Renee Lane
Lorryne "Renee" Lane (September 27, 1938 – July 5, 2007) was an American Democratic Party politician. In 1977, she led a movement to change the form of government in Essex County, New Jersey to a County Executive form. In 1978, she ran for Essex County Freeholder in the new fourth district on a ticket with Democratic County Executive candidate Peter Shapiro. She defeated Dr. Francis Byrne, brother of New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne in the primary election, and Republican Carmine Capone, the Mayor of Orange, New Jersey in the general election. In 1981, she lost re-election to a second term to Republican Monroe Jay Lustbader. In 1983, she sought the Democratic nomination for New Jersey General Assembly, but was trounced in the primary by incumbents Mildred Barry Garvin (13,020) and Harry A. McEnroe (12,709); Thomas Addonizio, the son of former Newark Mayor and Congressman Hugh Addonizio finished third with 4,010 votes, while Lane got just 3,360 votes.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://nj.gov/state/elections/election-results/1983-primary-results-st-senate-gen-assembly.pdf )
